Roller Garage Doors
Roller garage doors are a popular option for so many homes and businesses, providing a low maintenance and durable solution for your garage. There are no cables or external springs to worry about, which means that they are more hard-wearing than other styles of garage door, plus you don’t have to grease or oil the mechanism.
Outdated, damaged broken doors can be hazardous, especially if they are manual doors.
It’s vital that you focus on safety when choosing a garage door, and roller doors are a great option for several reasons.
Door Features
Roller style doors work well for a variety of garages, as there’s no out-swing, so whether you have a short driveway or plenty of space, this style of door will work for you. With no ceiling tracks, you can maximise your storage space, so it’s ideal for making the most of the space you have within your garage as well as suiting homeowners with taller vehicles.
A roller door is mounted on vertical tracks which run up and down the sides of the door, making it a compact and practical option. When you open the door, it’s rolls within a barrel-like compartment at the top of the opening, for added safety and space-saving convenience.
In addition to utilising the ceiling space, a roller door is also fitted behind the opening, so you have maximum opening width, which can make a huge difference if you have a narrow garage.

Shutter Doors Benefits
SAFE FOR THE USER
If safety is a concern, roller doors are the perfect option – since a garage door is one of the largest moving items on your property, it makes sense to ensure that it operates as safely as possible. Roller doors are popular for their durability and simple mechanism, so they offer the reliability you will need for your garage. What’s more, the enclosed barrel compartment reduces the risk of anyone trapping their fingers as the door is closing.
EASY TO USE
This style of garage door has a smooth mechanism and is easy to open and close, made from strong materials such as steel that deliver support for the door and minimizing stress on the door curtain.
SECURE
Security is a concern for any property, but once a roller garage door is closed, it is locked into the side tracks. There are no external handles or visible locks, so you can reduce the risk of someone forcing entry into your property. This clever design makes them a great option for delivering unrivalled security for your home or business premises.
Door Specifications
Garage sizes are all unique which is why we need to do an onsite survey to confirm the quoted telephone estimation. We can supply and fit doors to a width of 5m and up to 3m high, the doors are then manufactured to the surveyed sizes we need to look at other options. An Internal override comes as standard, external overrides are available, only really necessary if your door is the only entry into the garage. We offer a variety of additional safety features as required for the use of your roller door.
Doors come with two different slat sizes, 55mm and 77mm. 55mm is generally used for a smaller garage up to 2.5m wide and we use the 77mm slats for larger garages up to 5m wide and 3m tall. All doors are supplied with two remote controlled key fobs which are held to run. Other options are available and will be discussed at the site survey.
The slats are powder coated onto a strong corrosion resistant aluminum, the foam insulation adds to the rigidity of the door. Taurus Secure can also supply and fit a rubber seal to the floor which improves the whole sealing of the door and can stop flooding (priced on width of garage, ask for more details).
Of course, the doors are electric, so a socket will be needed in the garage to run the door via an internal control panel or your remote. Taurus Secure can also fit additional sockets as required as our fitters are electrical Part P registered.
